Questions & Answers

The things you’re probably wondering — answered before you ask.
If there’s something you’re unsure about — travel, hotels, dress code, logistics — you’ll probably find it here. And if not, just ask us. We promise we’re nice.
Accommodation & Booking
We recommend booking a two-night stay from 9 to 11 September 2026, checking out on the morning of the 11th. This will allow you to arrive in time for the pre-event, which will take place close to the wedding venue in town, and enjoy the full wedding day without having to travel late at night after the celebrations.
Unfortunately, no — the small number of rooms at Tenuta Savoca (the wedding venue) have already been distributed.
That would be Piazza Armerina. It’s just 10–15 minutes from Tenuta Savoca, the wedding venue, making it the most practical place to stay. Three of our recommended hotels are located in this town: Hotel Villa Romana, Hotel Gangi, and GH Hotel. Each one is also a night-bus drop-off point.
We’ve picked four hotels in and around Piazza Armerina, along the night bus route: Tenute Leano, Hotel Villa Romana, Hotel Gangi, and GH Hotel. Tenute Leano is just outside town (about an 8-minute walk from the venue) and is the first night bus stop before it turns towards Piazza Armerina. The other three hotels are right in town and perfect for guests who want an easy ride home.
Not at all. They’re just our “plug-and-play” options, because the night bus stops right outside. You’re free to choose any hotel, B&B or Airbnb in Piazza Armerina. Just aim for somewhere close to one of the drop-off points if you want to make use of the night bus, so your walk home is short and safe.
The sooner, the better. September is a busy month in Sicily, and we expect friends and family flying in from around the globe. Booking early means less stress and better choices.
It’s not that they’re actually full — many Sicilian hotels just don’t release online bookings until closer to the date. That’s why sites like Booking.com, or even the hotels’ own websites, may look blocked out. The trick? Email the hotel directly (addresses are listed on their sites). You’ll often get a confirmed reservation before the online systems catch up.
Nope. Besides these four, the bus also stops at Piazza Armerina Centre, which makes it easier if you’re staying somewhere more central.
Totally possible, but keep in mind the night bus only runs within town. If you book outside, you’ll need your own plan for getting back from the party.
Venue & Parking
Tenuta Savoca is a charming 19th-century villa set in the countryside, just outside Piazza Armerina — about a 10–15 minute drive from the town centre.
Yes, there’s plenty of space for cars.
Sadly, no, unless you’re one of the few staying in the rooms on-site. Everyone else needs to drive their car out once the party’s over.
Best to plan ahead — nominate a designated driver, schedule a cab, or hop on the night bus instead.
Night Buses
No — the night bus is optional. It’s just the easiest and safest choice if you’re staying in Piazza Armerina, but you can absolutely use a taxi, hotel transfer or designated driver instead.
From midnight, with departures every hour until the party is truly over.
The route starts at Tenuta Savoca and includes:
Tenute Leano (first stop & U-turn)
Hotel Villa Romana
Piazza Armerina Centre
Hotel Gangi
GH Hotel (final stop)
Nope — the night bus is completely free and requires no booking. Just check the timetable and hop on.
It depends on where you’re staying. The night bus only stops at the four hotels recommended in the Where to Stay, as well as in the town centre. If your hotel is nearby, consider yourself lucky — it'll only be a short walk away.
It takes roughly 10–15 minutes to reach the town center.
Taxis & Other Transport (After the Party)
Not unless you want to. We’ve arranged free night buses running hourly from midnight — so if you’re staying in Piazza Armerina, you’re covered. If you’re outside town, though, you’ll need to pre-book a taxi or organise a driver.
No, not really. After midnight, taxis are almost impossible to find — so we don’t recommend counting on them. If you’re not driving, your best options are taking the night bus, or pre-booking a cab in advance (either directly, or through your hotel).
Most hotels and B&Bs are happy to organise late-night pick-ups. It’s worth asking when you book your room, so you’re covered.
The night bus only runs within town. If your accommodation is further out, you’ll need to arrange a taxi or driver to meet you at one of the bus stops, or book a direct transfer from the venue.
Absolutely! If you’re in a small group, sharing makes late-night transport cheaper and easier.
No. Apps like Uber aren’t reliable in this area, especially late at night. Stick with local (pre-booked) taxis or hotel-arranged drivers.
Bringing Dogs & Kids
Yes! Dogs are absolutely welcome 🐶 Kids are just as welcome, too. If your little troopers are joining (as in kinds), please mention them in your RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
Yes, Tenuta Savoca has plenty of outdoor space where dogs can wander around. Just keep them on a lead during the ceremony to ensure everyone (including them!) stays relaxed.
If you’re bringing your dog, there are a few things to keep in mind. You’ll need to organise your own arrangements for the full stay — especially for after the party, as the night bus and most late-night transfers aren’t pet-friendly. Make sure you have a plan for how your dog will get back to your accommodation and where they’ll settle for the night.
Also, the dancing part of the evening can get a bit loud, so if your dog is noise-sensitive, it might be a good idea to book accommodation close by. That way, you can easily bring them back after the ceremony or dinner and return to the party without a long trip.
We also strongly recommend checking with your hotel or Airbnb to confirm they allow pets, as policies vary quite a bit in the area.
Yes — very! Tenuta Savoca is spacious, outdoors, and relaxed, which makes it a great place for kids to run around and enjoy themselves. Just keep in mind that it is a countryside venue, so a pair of comfy shoes and a little supervision here and there will go a long way.
Only if you prefer. The wedding is casual and outdoors, so kids tend to have a great time. However, if you would like a babysitter for part of the evening, you can plan for that.
Gifts
Absolutely not! The most important thing is that you're there. We realise that we're asking a lot by asking you to travel to celebrate with us. Also, we're getting married on a Thursday rather than at the weekend, which may cause further inconvenience to some of you.
Nevertheless, if you would like to give us a wedding gift, we would gratefully accept a contribution towards our honeymoon expenses, placed in an envelope. Due to limited space, we kindly ask you to refrain from bringing heavy or bulky gifts, as we will have to travel back to Malta.
Yes — we’ll have a dedicated box for envelopes.
Of course, but only if you genuinely want to. Just message us and we’ll happily share our address.
What’s Organised (and What Isn’t)
We’ve organised everything connected to the wedding itself — the ceremony, dinner, dancing, and the pre-event (“Sip Happens: Meet, Eat & Mingle”) the night before. We’ve also arranged night buses after the wedding to get everyone safely back to town, and we’ve blocked rooms at Tenute Leano for guests who want to stay extra close to the venue.
Pretty much everything else — your flights, accommodation, transport to and from Sicily, and getting around while you’re there.
RSVP & Communication
Yes! Just resubmit the form with your updated details, or drop us a quick message before 28 February 2026, and we’ll update it for you. No judgment if you’ve just realised your holiday plans (or babysitter!) changed.
Nope — it’s all part of the same form. You’ll see a question about joining the ‘Sip Happens: Meet, Eat & Mingle‘ get-together as you go through it. One form, one click, one less thing to forget.
